You have come this far into the site, so let me explain to you the entire purpose of its existence. 

My name is Duaa Anwar, an Egyptian dressage rider who also has a passion for writing. I have always wanted to write a book on horses, but my experience was not enough to allow me to write on training or equitation.

I have then decided to write a 'one of a kind' book. It will be a collection of true encounters between people and horses, which will include encounters of courage, wisdom, intelligence, and humor - on the part of the horse of course.

Why write a book like this? Because horses are often mistaken for being insensitive, plain, and/or of extremely low intelligence. This book can help change these views because it will take real life encounters to prove that horses have long been misunderstood.

Many books of this type have already been written about other animals; dogs, cats, zoo animals, but rarely horses. It's time we make heroes out of our fellow horses, wouldn't you think?

I invite you to write of your special encounters with horses and send your stories to me for consideration. You may use the entry form or simply send me an email at author@truehorsestories.com . The information which will be submitted will be filed and held in strictest confidence. If your story is selected for publication in the book, you will be receiving either a free copy of the book or a different reward which will be decided upon with the publisher. If your story doesn't make it in the book, it will be posted right here on this site in the Stories section. 

I have one last plea.. if you are considering sending me your stories, please, please do not send a fabricated incident. I am looking for real-life and true stories only. I am sure that every horse person has got a handful of true incidents to share.. so please do so!
